Oh, November. Now that the Halloween costumes are put away and the candy has been eaten (already?), it’s time for a fresh start. We are now in the middle of the fall and I can’t believe that our South Florida temps are still in the upper 80’s. I’m sorry, but that’s just wrong. Could we at least have a tiny semblance of fall down here??
So… I have been off running for 9 days now. Other than a sloooww and super easy, leisurely bike ride last Friday night, I did not do any form of exercise since my anemia diagnosis last Tuesday. Surprisingly, I am handling this hiatus pretty well. I figured I should give myself 2 weeks off completely before starting a program of light exercise. I feel like I have to come up with a program of some sort now that I’m no longer marathon training. Give me a schedule please!
Now let’s talk about Halloween one last time.
This year was a blast. Gavin really killed it with the zombie makeup. I knew our makeup was good before we left the house, but I never anticipated the attention we received on the streets of Wilton Manor. People were congratulating us for the makeup job left and right. We had so many requests for pictures, it was crazy! People loooved the Walking Dead couple. Except for one dude who put a [fake] gun to my head and a few who were literally scared of me. Haha!
I gotta tell you, Wilton Manor puts on a heck of a party on Halloween. Everybody was having fun. The street was filled with strangers taking pictures together, entertaining each other and laughing together. Gavin and I ended the night with a zombie dance off to Micheal Jackson’s “Thriller” song.
Buuut… I’m not going to tell you about my experience of ripping one pound of latex off my face when I got home. No, I just won’t. Tip: next time, use Vaseline before putting the stuff on. Trust me.
Oh, and I’m dying (no pun intended) to try a prostheticnext time. If you want to know how that makes a difference, search You Tube for “zombie makeup tutorial” videos. I’d include the video in this post but I’m afraid (no pun intended… I swear, it’s true) I might scare a reader to death (okay I admit that one was intended).
So readers, did you have a fun Halloween? How did you celebrate? And what candy are you still eating right now?? Don’t deny it!
